I realized today that my kids have 10 (now it's 9) days left of school, and then my summer will have officially arrived whether the weather cooperates or not. So, I must take this opportunity, while spring is still a persistent presence in much of the country, to talk about layers, or transitional pieces. Now is a great time to have a few fashionable light jackets in your wardrobe. And, they may be on sale in stores too.
First, let's start with a denim jacket. My husband frequently laments the fact that I gave his to a good charitable home. But it was time for me to make sure that his vintage 1986 faded jean jacket stopped corrupting my closet. That's not to say that 1980s fashion isn't currently right on trend. But this jacket of his...no!
For us women, a good cropped denim jacket works well for everyday. Totally trendy! If you want to pull off a colored denim jacket, that's great. There is also white denim, which goes with almost everything and is great to wear with shorts when it is in-between-weather. For white denim jacket options, check out Old Navy and the Gap. And, of course, there is blue denim, which is versatile and transitional for the fall season, too. I love my blue denim jacket by Kut, which I bought last year from one of my favorite stores, Hot Mama.
Hot Mama has many store locations and a website called shopmama.com. I go on their website regularly for new arrivals, and I have plans this week to check out one of their stores and report back on my finds. Stay tuned!
Another great look, again from Hot Mama is this Miilla jacket. The sleeves roll up or roll down to 3/4 length. It looks great with capris. It is too long in the back to wear with shorts, though. The top
underneath is by Allen Allen. The jacket is currently on sale at Hot Mama.
There are lots of other options out there as well. I also like the green army jacket look, which you may remember I blogged about earlier in the month. Do you have a favorite light jacket for spring or cooler summer nights. I welcome your input and comments!
Cute jackets-- really love the Allen Allen top underneath.
