My New Find!

It's about 2:45 in the afternoon on Friday, and I finally just finished cleaning up the kitchen from lunch (dinner preparations are a mere 2 hours away).  I finished scouring the sink from blue paint stains from my youngest's latest art project activity, and I have a washing machine full of wet laundry from an early morning load that has yet to make it to the dryer.  Oh yeah, and I have 5 kids running through the house  leaving a trail of miscellaneous stuff (the kind that you have no idea where it came from or where it should be put away).  You ever have one of those days?

You know the kind, the kind where the background noise is a mixture of kids screaming, doors slamming and the Fairly Odd Parents and Sponge Bob play in an endless loop on the TV.  You know the kind...the kind where the kids have a day off of school!  And to save money and to try to get things done around the house, you stay home with them... My husband calls it "mommy camp".  I call it a day ending in a margarita.  My mom calls it a day that I will one day look back to and long for.

Since I have a few minutes before I see the next "show" put on by four adorable girls, I wanted to blog about a local boutique I came across last week, which has super cute clothes and accessories at reasonable prices.  The boutique is called Alice B.  It is located on McHenry Road in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, and you can find them on Facebook.  I had never been to Alice B. before.  I guess they used to have a store in Wheeling, and they opened in Buffalo Grove this March.  They have tons of cute tops by hip, fashionable designers; some cute, colorful shorts; and a wall full of dresses at good prices if you are looking for something dressier for summer parties or graduations.

They also have great jewelry and handbags.  Snakeskin is a big trend right now.  I've been seeing it accenting sandals and handbags and as an allover pattern as well.  Alice B. had an adorable vegan snakeskin handbag in all the spring colors:  turquoise blue, lavender, pink and beige.  The bag is by a brand called "Sorial," which I had not known about.  Bloomingdales carries a line of Sorial bags.  You can bet that I will be checking out the fall line of Sorial bags come September.  I picked out the blue one.

I thought the style might be too big for me, but it is so light and so soft, I've been using it every day.  They also had this style too:

This clutch/cross body is perfect to fit your phone, a small wallet and keys for going out with the husband or for a girls night out.

I will definitely return to Alice B.  But for now, I must go clean the kitchen, yet again.  While typing this post, it appears the kids had snack time and are now, painting.... again!
