One of the hottest trends for fall 2013 is pleather or faux leather. I am seeing it everywhere. It is edgy and bold. As long as you are not decked out in it head to toe, it is a very fashionable look, too. I have bought into this trend and so should you. Even if you can only go so far as a little pleather on the trim or pocket of a t-shirt, you can jump on the pleather bandwagon.
One of the stores where I've seen a lot of pleather at reasonable prices is T.J. Maxx. In a post earlier this month, I showed pictures of some t-shirts with pleather trim. As promised, I took a trip to the Mundelein, Illinois T.J. Maxx store, which has a great selection of contemporary fashion. They had some great buys including this gray cardigan with pleather on the shoulders and pockets by Bailey 44. It was still a little pricey at $59.99, but Bailey 44 is a great brand, which is carried at Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus. It looks great paired with a black legging with black pleather trim on the side, which in my opinion, does not overdo the pleather look.
The Design History top below from T.J. Maxx has a subtle dash of pleather and is very reasonable at $16.99. I loved the olive color, especially when contrasted with the black pleather.
I saw this top from Express in a fashion magazine and had to check it out for myself. It is called the Portofino Shirt and is very cute and classic.
This black dress, below (at Alice B.), has a very subtle amount of pleather. It is an adorable cocktail dress.
I loved this top below (also from Alice B.), which would look great layered over a black tank with black skinny jeans or even a pleather skirt for a night out.
