Finally, you say, right?
Well, here it is...my top 5 recommendations after spending 3 1/2 hours today in the Early Access tents at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. These are the items that I found to be a great deal for the money and wardrobe essentials at the same time. I am not saying that you must purchase all 5 of these pieces, but each one is a great staple to have. I love the styles Nordstrom has of each piece and think they are a good buy for the money:
1) Hunter brand rain boots: If you live in the Chicagoland area and have been outside this past spring and summer seasons, nothing could be more useful. I love the style offered at the Sale, especially the quilting on top.
2) Premium Denim. You pick the brand that fits you best. I saw Paige, Mother, Hudson, AG, Citizens of Humanity, J Brand. All great denim. The prices are excellent. These jeans retail for $175 to $200 and are on sale for a little over $100. Everyone needs denim that fits well. Enough said.
3) A short leather jacket. The sale is replete with leather. The prices range from under $100 for a faux leather to anywhere over $100 to maybe $500 or $600 for authentic leather. Whatever your style or price range, a leather or faux leather jacket is right on trend. And it will be for quite awhile.
4) Boots (tall, short or booties). There are so many great pairs, I couldn't recommend just one. I did not go with the Tory Burch ones this year, but went for the Aquatalia. It is my first pair of Aquatalia. These are adorable with quilting and a buckle and are a little higher than a short boot. They are called the "Ora" boot in the black calf color and are weatherproof as well. Once in awhile, I buy something practical, and this is it.
5) A new fall handbag. I especially liked the Kate Spade "hancock park-jeanne" in gray, but there are also lots of cute Marc Jacobs, and there are some Tory bags too. I was able to refrain from buying a new bag at the sale this year. I have so many options at home. If you are in need of a new bag, this is the time to get it.
The only other guidance I have is not to forget about your kids too. The Ugg boots for girls are always a great buy, and there are tons of North Face jackets and coats also!
