Warm Up with Faux Fur!

Did you see Joe Namath at the Super Bowl coin toss?  What was he wearing?  That's right-one of the biggest trends of the winter season--fur!   His fur was real, but what I am advocating is faux fur.  You know,  just like faux leather, a/k/a "pleather".  Both pleather and faux fur are huge fashion trends this winter season.

I have seen faux fur everywhere, on handbags, boots, vests, jackets, and in every place from low end to high end stores.

Check out these great faux fur pieces:

This vest above was on the sale rack at Alice B. (Buffalo Grove, Illinois) this week.  It is soft, has a great fringed bottom, and it goes with everything, casual or dressy.  The best part about this vest is that it is so reasonable:  it is on sale for $25.  Definitely, a must!

Another great vest is this one below by Dylan that I've been eyeing at Hot Mama.  It just went on sale for $128.99, from $172.  The fur neck is adorable, and you've got to love the heather gray body of the vest.

I have also seen a lot of fur jackets out there.   For me, this season, it's been all about softness.  

The softer, the better.  This faux fur jacket from Priceless (Vernon Hills, Illinois) is so soft and cozy!

I mentioned that the faux fur look is everywhere.  Check out this great vest from Target.  It sold out online and was hard to find in my area.  But for around $30, it's great for everyday and to dress up an outfit.  The back is knit, which I found pretty unique too.

 

If you are leery to go all faux fur, you can just opt for a faux fur collar or sherpa lined piece.  Last week on Best Dressed Moms I featured this great vest from Cusp:

The other great thing about the faux fur look is that it comes in lots of different colors and hues so that you can find a look to match almost any outfit.  Besides black and the brown colors, I have seen a lot of white too.  This vest below is from Nordstrom:
