All About Stripes

Here's my question:  They say that stripes are a big trend now.  But aren't stripes always around?  Can stripes really ever go out out of style?  Can simply wearing stripes be considered a fashion "don't".  I say "no," as long as they are not paired with a bad pattern and as long as they are not the type that make you look like a referee or a prisoner from Alcatraz.

Last summer, I went stripe crazy.   If you know me, that's how I roll.  I find a trend and go overboard.  My problem is that I go overboard with multiple trends, and that is no good for the budget.  But I have to say, all of the stripe pieces were reasonably priced, and I will wear them all again this summer.  I have, however, added some new pieces to my collection which I'd like to show you.

If you like reasonably priced (who doesn't) and casual, this top is for you.

It's colorful, cheerful and youthful.  And you get all that for about a $25 price tag. I found this top at Illusions by Jill, a local boutique in Lincolnshire, Illinois.  You can also find Illusions by Jill on Facebook.

Then there's this Vince Camuto Front Tie blouse which spans mutliple trends all in one piece of clothing.

You've got stripes, you've got the black and white trend going on.  And, you have the front tie, which you see a lot of in stores but not so much that you are inundated by it.  This top is great for going out.  You can wear it with denim or a black capri.  You can also put a white crop jacket over it (even a denim one), and you are looking very fashionable.

Another place where I've seen a lot of stripes is bags.  There's the nautical looking ones.  And, of course, there's Tory.  This bag is the Tory Burch Small Sophia Canvas Tote.

For me, it's always Tory for my favorite bags.  Yeah, I will throw in some Coach and Kate Spade and a few others. but it always comes back to Tory Burch.  As you read more of my blog, you will recognize that I have a purse problem...and a shoe problem.  My two biggest downfalls.  And, if the purse or shoes are a Tory Burch style I love, then I'm hooked.  And, if Tory is on sale, like this bag was...you know the rest.
